Rough week. Sorry to hear it. I have to giggle at the blog turning into a bodily fluids post though! Actually it would be hard to see your baby sick with stomach bug. Babies typically don't get stomach bugs. (It has gone round our house with the four girls at least once, with Jules twice and the baby still hasn't gotten it.) So it is hard and a little scary when someone so little keeps throwing up. I am glad though that you all got it now and not when we get there in April! Happy recovery ... oh and too many in-and-out double-doubles will put that 7 lbs right back on. :)

With the talk of a candidate's morals and character, I don't see people examining anyone's political agenda from a moral perspective. Is anyone talking about poverty, war, hunger, responsible stewardship of the earth....? I would love to see your views on that topic, Sam. It seems that the only use of the moral compass in politics is to judge other people's sexual morals.

Good job WE....yup...I also wonder why they don't talk more about what Mitt did for the Olympic back in 2002. I am a resident of Utah and will always be one to thank Mitt for coming and rescuing the games. We tax payers would have really been on the hook as the games were headed for a sure failure. Mitt came and as a result, did in fact make quite a nice profit for the State. And yes, he did clean house and layed a bunch of freeloader off. I think he can do the same for America.,,,yup..

We all would be happier if more people would admit to their ugly backyards and unfolded laundry, and if more parents would admit that sometimes we wish the babies would give us a day off. Striving for better is what makes us grow, but sometimes it's more important to take a nap.

Remember- "...and it came to pass" (not "it came to stay" :) I had several things that I wanted to get done this past weekend, that didn't happen either. Everyone reminded me that those things would still be there waiting, later. I was actually hoping that they might NOT be waiting. hehe AND my Christmas stuff is still out :(

We had him trained to fall asleep in his crib - but since he's been sick, he's regressed. It has gotten back to the point that if we try to let him cry it out (3, 5, 10 min intervals) then he just gets worse and worse. So last couple days and nights I've had to hold him to sleep. So we'll have to fix that when he gets better again. It only took 2 days the first time to get him to lay down and put himself to sleep.

I like the ornery-ness! You guys have had a great year. One little thing that jumped out at me... I have to put in my advice if I think it might be useful... do you rock Eli to sleep and then put him in his bed? Don't do it... if you aren't already, put him in his bed drowsy, but awake and let him finish putting himself to sleep. He might cry a little bit until you've trained him, but it helps them if they can learn to go to sleep on their own. Just a bit of unsolicited advice. Disregard if not the case, but I'm guessing you're making the classic new parent mistake.

Second, suck it up and get to work! :) We all have our bad attitude moments.

Get well soon.

These are all reasons why I've stopped blogging too, minus the kids. Of course, i have 23 students, so that's kind of like kids, right? Anyway, I think I'm getting more interested in writing down my thoughts for myself and not the general public. If you figure it all out, do let me know...

Personally, I write my Notes on FB as a way to work through my responses to experiences. You could think of your blog the same way, as a thought process rather than a publication. Share your responses to marriage, kid, church, career. We all learn so much from the stories we share.

Ditto to the above. I find your blog appealing because I enjoy the way your write. I'd probably find enjoyment in your review of the latest Merriam-Webster Dictionary, too. :)

I've experienced my own blogging slump, so I know what it feels like. You're obviously welcome to make your own decisions even if that means you stop blogging for now. But if you keep going, I'll keep reading.
